A Family Affair

I have known April since the 8th grade. We both married our high school sweethearts, and I was even the maid of honor in their wedding!

Unfortunately, because of busy lives and distance, we have lost touch the last few years. It has been absolutely wonderful reconnecting since being home. April is one of those truly genuine, sweet people. I don't think there is a mean bone in this girl's body, and I am blessed to call her (again) a friend!

I was honored when she asked me to take some family pictures. We chose a date (not an easy feat considering we were trying to coordinate with parents, in-laws, uncles, and a great-grandmother to get some extended family pictures as well). The weather was beautiful, and except for the pesky gnats that were quite happy with the new mulch the Botanical Gardens had just spread... we had a great, fun-filled session.

After taking all of the extended family group shots, April, Ryan, their adorable 4 year old twins, and I set out to take some more candid, fun shots.

Keeping 2 four year olds interested and engaged (after having done all of the family pictures), took quite a bit of imagination. They were great sports, and had A LOT of energy! I had so much fun with them. And I think we ended up with some really great photographs to boot.
