It is always an incredible honor when a fellow photographer hires you to photograph her own family. When Amanda reached out to me, Ella was already a month old. Luckily, I had an opening in my schedule and we quickly got her on my calendar. The day of the session we had crazy weather- downpours one minute, and beautiful sunshine and white puffy clouds the next. It made for some tricky lighting in the nursery, but I am SO thankful that we got enough of a break to do some shots outside. When Amanda and I were emailing back and forth before the session, she had sent me a picture of her backyard and it made my photographer heart happy! And the big front porch with a white swing was an added bonus! This is why I love lifestyle newborn sessions so much! Yes, I love my studio and the predictability and consistency that comes with my studio lights. But it can also be nice to be challenged by tricky lighting situations, and also be rewarded when you arrive at someone’s home and find beautiful nurseries and property!
Thank you Johnson Family for inviting me into your home and sharing your sweet girl with me!
