Fall Fabulous-ness

When I was first contacted by this family, their youngest was over a month old. That is really too old to guarantee my normal newborn pictures (like there is any guarantee with these unpredictable little ones!). The family decided to just wait and do family pictures in the fall, that could also be used for Christmas cards.

Our first scheduled session had to be postponed because of rain. Then, rain threatened our back-up date too! We decided to meet on a Wednesday night in the studio so at least we could guarantee some pictures of at least the kids. And we decided, if the weather cooperated, we would meet the next night in the Botanical Gardens for some family pictures.

The first time I met the mom, 4-year old 'G', and 4-month old 'L' was when they showed up at the studio. After about 5 minutes, I was completely smitten with G. He is one of the coolest, sweetest, most entertaining, most helpful... I could go on and on about this little boy. What an awesome kid! And then there was little L. Oh. My. Goodness. First, let's talk about his hair. Have you ever seen anything more adorable?!

He was asleep when he arrived, but woke up, and was quite content to just hang out with me. For a little while. Then he got a little fussy, but have no fear, big brother was there to hold him and play with him, so I could keep snapping away.

Then it was time to change for the top-secret Christmas card pictures. I would love to share them with you, but I can't. Maybe after Christmas I will add an update to this post and share them with you all. When we were just about finished, I could tell L was getting sleepy, so I decided to see if I could get him to fall asleep and get some of those precious sleeping baby pics. Oh what a tough job I have rocking babies to sleep! :)

The next day we met in the Clemson Botanical Gardens on an absolutely gorgeous fall afternoon. The colors could not have been more perfect. The family could not have been more fun. It was a pretty much perfect session all the way around.

Oh, and cousin E joined us. She is such a beautiful and sweet 4 year old. But don't let that sweet, innocent face fool you, she is a little trickster too! She spent most of our session trying to sneak up behind me and tickle me. I love when kids are so comfortable with me from the get-go. Makes my job SO much easier!

I loved seeing these two cousins play with each other. What a special bond. A bond I hope Jacob has one day (hint, hint Aunt Amy...)

I know this is going to be picture overload, but there were so many that I loved.
