We started off the day taking some pictures inside, since the weather outside wasn't great. When the twins went down for their morning nap, I had a mini maternity session with their aunt (that post will be coming soon). After a yummy lunch break from Prickly Pear (if you are in the Mooresville, NC area, I highly recommend you check it out!), it was finally cake time! Unfortunately the girls hadn't gotten the memo. Sophia was mildly interested, but Ella thought that snuggling with mommy was waayyyy better than cake and icing. I was posed and ready to catch the cake being smashed to smithereens, but that isn't exactly how it went down.
While Ella snuggled with her mom, Sophia inspected the cake...
...swipe a finger through the icing...
...and as she was deciding if she liked it or not, she would took a tour through the dining room. She would then wander back, get another lick of icing, and wander off again.
We finally convinced Ella to at least sit, but she had absolutely no interest in the cake. In fact, in order to at least get a picture of her appearing to be eating the cake, we stuck cheerio puffs into the icing, and she would pick them out! After getting a taste, she started, very delicately, eating some icing.
I had so much fun spending not one, but TWO days with these little sweethearts!
Happy First Birthday Ella and Sophia!
