There are 9 grandchildren on my dad's side of the family. Of the 9, only 3 of us are girls: my sister, me, and my cousin McKenzie. I was so excited for McKenzie when she got engaged last fall. She asked me to photograph her New Orleans wedding, and I am so excited for June!
Our grandparents live in Atlanta (also where McKenzie grew up). McKenzie and Brad were planning on flying in for our grandmother's book launch (her second book...at 83 years old...yeah, she's pretty amazing...). We decided this would be the perfect opportunity for some engagement pictures!
I am not that familiar with places to go in Atlanta for pictures, and McKenzie and I went around and around and around with different ideas. I turned to my brother-in-law who lives in midtown for some guidance. Mike was our saving grace! His condo is literally across the street from Piedmont Park and he scoped out for me some picturesque spots (including texting me pictures and timing how long it took to walk from each spot! Ahhhh, that was incredibly helpful!).
Saturday morning I got to Mike's condo early, and we walked alllll over Piedmont Park and narrowed down the spots that I would take McKenzie and Brad. After turning Mike's condo into a hair and makeup salon, I am sure he was more than happy to see us take off for the park.
I had SO MUCH fun with Brad and McKenzie! Standing in the middle of a crowded park with your photographer/cousin asking you to snuggle and kiss, well, it can feel a bit awkward. BUT Brad and McKenzie just laughed and smiled the whole time. It makes me even more excited for their wedding in a few short months!
Thank you Atlanta for the perfect weather and park with tons of great spots for pictures. Thank you Mike for your help and hospitality. And thank you McKenzie and Brad for being so laid back, easy going, and FUN to photograph. Love you guys!
