You might remember a session I blogged about a few months ago- where Nikki surprised both Matt and me by announcing she was pregnant! So fun! Fast forward a few months, and it was time for maternity pictures!
*Sidenote- I titled this session "Peanut" because Matt and Nikki chose to keep the gender a surprise, so Peanut was the nickname for this little one throughout the pregnancy.*
Nikki is my god-sister, and my sister, Amy, and I were planning to throw a couples' baby shower in Greenville for the parents to be. Since Nikki and Matt don't live in Greenville, we decided it would make sense to do maternity pictures while they were already in town for the shower. Unfortunately, Mother Nature didn't get the memo that we needed pretty weather for our session. But, fortunately, Nikki and Matt were so great to just roll with whatever the weather decided to do. We were able to get about twenty minutes of pictures in Falls Park (dodging the thousands of people that were downtown for various events and festivals going on!). We then headed to a rooftop that Nikki remembered taking pictures on when she was in a wedding last year. I was able to get about 10 shots before the rain started coming down, HARD! I had grabbed a clear umbrella that I had bought for wedding days, and we ended the session with some fun rain shots.
I love these two humans so much, and can't wait to see them as parents!
(Spoiler alert- Peanut was born a week ago today, and I made it down to Augusta in time to photograph the birth. Can't wait to share more about that soon!!!!)
